10:00 – 10:05 Introduction and update on the Pharmacoepidemiology Data Collaborative. Annie Jeffery, Cini Bhanu, Sophie Eastwood, Alvin Richards-Belle

10:05 – 10:45 Keynote talk – Optimising type 2 diabetes prescribing using prediction models based on routinely available clinical features – Dr John Dennis, Associate Professor of Health Data Science and Wellcome Trust Fellow, University of Exeter. Dr Dennis will discuss his recent work, published in the Lancet, on the development and validation of a prediction model to assist clinician choice of diabetes medication (https://doi.org/10.1016/S0140-6736(24)02617-5).

10:45 – 11:20 “5 Minute Methods” COMPETITION - £50 prize to be won! We would like to invite early and mid-career researchers and PhD students to participate in our competition by giving a 5-minute presentation on your research. The presentation could be on study results, a protocol, analysis plan or any other aspect that you may wish to share and present. If interested, please contact alvin.richards-belle.21@ucl.ac.uk by 5pm on April 25th.

11:20 – 11:30 Competition winner announcement and closing remarks

Opportunity to give feedback and suggest topics for next session.
